Jetstar cuts Tokyo service

Jetstar stated it will cut services between Australia and Tokyo due to weak demand for travel to and from the Japanese capital (Sydney Morning Herald, 22-Mar-2011). The LCC will halve the numbers of services between Australia and Tokyo, its most important long-haul destination, from 22-Mar-2011 to seven times weekly, and redeploy capacity to Osaka. Jetstar will maintain its 25 weekly services to Japan but stated there might be some "lessening of capacity in the longer-term". Parent Qantas operates 10 weekly services to Japan.
