JetBlue to expand winter schedule; signs agreements with LIAT and Seaborne Airlines
JetBlue Airways announced (12-Nov-2013) plans to expand its winter schedule in the Caribbean, signing two new interline agreements with LIAT and Seaborne Airlines and developing its existing partnership with Cape Air. The carrier plans to launch the following five routes, including service to two new destinations - see Route Changes Table for more information:
- Chicago O'Hare-San Juan Luis Munoz: Service to launch on 20-Nov-2013. According to Innovata, American Airlines and United Airlines also operate on the route;
- Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood-Port Au Prince Toussaint: Service to launch on 05-Dec-2013, subject to governmental approval. According to Innovata, Spirit Airlines and American Airlines also operate on the route;
- Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood-Port Of Spain: Service to launch on 01-May-2014, subject to governmental approval. According to Innovata, Caribbean Airlines also operates on the route;
- New York JFK-Port Au Prince Toussaint: Service to launch on 05-Dec-2013, subject to governmental approval. According to Innovata, American Airlines and Delta Air Lines also operate on the route;
- New York JFK-Port Of Spain: Service to launch on 24-Feb-2014, subject to governmental approval. According to Innovata, Caribbean Airlines also operates on the route.
JetBlue plans to deploy its new 190-seat A321 aircraft on winter services from New York JFK to Bridgetown, Nassau, San Juan Luis Munoz, Santiago Cibao, and Santo Domingo Las Americas, replacing 150-seat A320 aircraft. LIAT offers new connections to the Caribbean, including Antigua, Grenada, Saint Kitts, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines when transferring at Barbados and Saint Martin. Seaborne Airlines also opens up several new destinations including Saint Kitts, Dominica, Guadeloupe, and Martinique via San Juan Luis Munoz, as well as daily connections to La Romana.
