Japan to rule on Star and oneworld immunity applications by 21-Oct-2010

Japan's Minister of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism, Seiji Maehara, stated the Ministry plans to review separate applications for antitrust immunity from members of Star Alliance and oneworld by 21-Oct-2010 (Dow Jones, 29-Jun-2010). The timetable matches that of the US Department of Transportation which is also reviewing the cases. The requests were filed in Japan this month and in the US four months ago.
