Japan domestic pax up 3% to 6.4 million, int'l pax up 5% to 1.1 million in Dec-2011

Japan MLIT reported (26-Mar-2012) the following traffic highlights in Dec-2012:

• Passenger numbers:
  • Domestic: 6.4 million, +2.9% year-on-year;
  • International: 1.1 million, +5.3%;
    • China: 229,876, +22.0%;
    • South Korea: 142,484, -2.2%;
    • Other Asia: 382,568, +8.7%;
    • US: 119,449, -1.2%;
    • Pacific Ocean: 113,767, -10.8%;
    • Europe: 94,927, +3.0%;
    • Oceania: 10,786, -11.5%;
• Passenger load factor:
  • Domestic: 59.6%, -4.1 ppts;
  • International: 72.5%, -2.0 ppts;
• Cargo volume:
  • Domestic: 93,841 tonnes, -2.5%;
  • International: 91,501 tonnes, -0.9%;
    • China: 16,781, -5.5%;
    • South Korea: 4578, -11.6%;
    • Other Asia: 39,062, +3.8%;
    • US: 18,879, -3.5%;
    • Pacific Ocean: 1476, +9.2%;
