Iran Aviation Finance: USD2.5bn upgrade at Tehran Airport to create national centre for development

Iran Minister of Roads & Urban Development Dr Abbas Akhoundi, at the CAPA Iran Aviation Finance Summit, reported (18-Sep-2016) that the USD2.5 billion plan to develop Tehran Iman Khomeni International Airport will turn the airport into a full airport city and logistics port, acting as a centre of development for the country. The IKIA airport city will be a multi-modal transportation hub, open to air, sea, rail and road transport. Dr Akhoundi noted the in the future it will play a major role in opening up Iran to free trade and become a hub for transport, trade and technology for Iran.
