IAG passenger numbers down in Aug-2011, cargo traffic also lower

International Airlines Group (IAG) reports (05-Sep-2011) the following consolidated traffic highlights in Aug-2011:

  • Passenger numbers: 4.8 million, -3.6% year-on-year;
  • Passenger load factor: 84.9%, +0.1 ppt;
    • Domestic (UK & Spain): 78.7%, +0.4 ppt;
    • Europe: 83.7%, +0.6 ppt;
    • North America: 89.5%, +1.8 ppts;
    • Latin America and Caribbean: 85.5%, -0.7 ppt;
    • Africa, Middle East and S.Asia: 78.9%, -1.6 ppts;
    • Asia Pacific: 81.9%, -4.2 ppts;
  • Cargo traffic (FTKs): -2.0%. [more - original PR]

IAG: “Group premium traffic for the month of August grew by 8.7% compared to the previous year, with 1.4% growth in non-premium traffic.
