Conviasa considering acquisiton of Q400s for short-haul services

Conviasa stated (07-Aug-2013) it is studying the "benefits" of acquiring Bombardier Q400s for short-haul routes, considering their ability to operate from shorter runways, with tests being carrier out with the type at various airports including Valera, Merida and Maracay. According to the CAPA Fleet Database, the carrier currently operates a mixed fleet of 22 aircraft, primarily comprised six E190s, four CRJ700s and four Boeing 737-200s.
