Central Japan International Airport halts LCCT plans following uncertainty in AirAsia Japan

Japan's Central Japan International Airport, operator of Nagoya Chubu Airport, reported froze its dedicated LCC terminal plan following the fallout between AirAsia and Nippon Airways on their AirAsia Japan JV (Yomiuri, 14-Jun-2013). The project is estimated to cost JPY8000 million (USD102.5 million) and scheduled for completion in summer 2014. As previously reported, AirAsia Japan is seeking a simple terminal at the airport to lower charges. AirAsia Japan previously announced plans to establish Nagoya Chubu as its second hub.
