CAAC announced (10-Aug-2012) it approved the following airlines' applications to launch services to China - see Route Changes Table for more information:
- Orient Thai Airlines:
- Daily Phuket-Chengdu service with Boeing 737 equipment from 01-Sep-2012. The carrier will compete with China Eastern Airlines and Sichuan Airlines on the sector, according to Innovata;
- Daily Bangkok-Guangzhou service with 737 equipment from 01-Oct-2012. Air Madagascar, Kenya Airways, China Southern Airlines, SriLankan Airlines, Thai AirAsia and Thai Airways all operate on the route, according to Innovata;
- NordStar Airlines:
- Weekly Krasnoyarsk-Beijing service with 737-800 equipment from 07-Sep-2012. Lufthansa and S7 Airlines also operate on the sector, according to Innovata;
- Weekly Krasnoyarsk-Sanya service with 737-800 equipment from 07-Oct-2012. The carrier will be the sole operator on the route, according to Innovata;
- Air Astana: Twice weekly Astana-Beijing service with 757-200 equipment from 18-Aug-2012. The carrier will be the sole operator on the route, according to Innovata.
