China and Sri Lanka sign MoU to expand ASA

China and Sri Lanka signed (03-Aug-2016) a MoU to expand their bilateral air services agreement. Under the agreement, both parties will work to raise the number of weekly services between the countries to 70. In addition, services between Kunming and Sri Lanka will not be limited. CAAC reported that in 2015, there were 39 weekly services between China and Sri Lanka, which brought about 400,000 people travelling between the two countries, up 34% year-on-year. Currently, SriLankan Airlines, Air China and China Eastern Airlines operate services between five Chinese cities (Kunming, Guangzhou, Chengdu, Shanghai and Beijing) and Colombo.
