Germany's Berlin Airports announced (29-Sep-2010) it has commenced construction of Berlin-Brandenburg International Airport's (BBI) 16ha Airport City. Berlin Airports: "The construction of the new Capital Airport and the development of the core business are coming along in leaps and bounds. Once again this year, Berlin Airports has grown above the national average. We will end 2010 with a new record of over 22 million passengers, despite the ash cloud, numerous strikes and a harsh winter. By offering new long-haul flights operated by Air Berlin to New York, Miami, Dubai and Mombasa, we have already laid the foundations for establishing BBI as a new East-West hub," Professor Rainer Schwarz, CEO.
