Beijing Statistical Information Net reported (22-Jul-2011) Beijing received a total of 93.8 million tourists in the first six months of 2011, an increase of 12.8% year-on-year. Details include:

• Total tourists: 93.8 million, +12.8% year-on-year;
  • Domestic: 91.4 million, +13.1%;
  • International tourists: 2.4 million, +3.5%;
    • Foreign tourists: 2.0 million, +3.7%;
      • US: 378,000, +17.0%;
      • South Korea: 254,000, +0.9%;
      • Japan: 212,000, -20.5%;
    • Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan: 351,000, +2.5%;
• Tourism revenue: CNY142.8 billion (USD22.0 billion), +11.4%;
• Foreign exchange revenue: CNY25.3 billion (USD3.9 billion).
