AVIC in negotiations with "leading aircraft engine manufacturers" for C919

Aviation Industry Corporation of China (AVIC) President, Lin Zouming, confirmed the company is in negotiations with leading international aircraft engine manufacturers (Reuters, 20-Nov-2009). The company recently entered a JV with GE to develop avionics, focusing on the new C919 under development by Commercial Aircraft Corporation of China (COMAC). The C919 is expected to commence test flights in 2014, and enter commercial service in 2016.
