ANA to raise fuel surcharge on international freight

All Nippon Airways announced (07-Sep-09) it has applied to Japan's Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism (MLIT) to revise its surcharge on international freight shipments from 01-Oct-09. The fuel surcharge is fixed for one month. The next surcharge will be set according to the average price of jet fuel for the month of Aug-2009. As jet fuel averaged of USD78.80 per barrel in that month, ANA stated it "must continue to ask its customers to share the burden of fuel costs". [more]
