American Airlines and TAM Airlines codeshare agreement to commence 22-Aug-2013

American Airlines and TAM Airlines announced (15-Aug-2013) their codeshare agreement will commence 22-Aug-2013 covering services between the US and Brazil. In addition, American Airlines will place its code on eight Brazilian domestic routes operated by TAM, with TAM code to be placed on American Airlines services to 25 US destinations from Miami, New York and Orlando. American Airlines VP strategic alliances Kurt Stache said: "Thanks to this codeshare agreement with TAM, we are better able to respond to the increasing customer demand for travel between the US and Brazil. This new access to TAM's network significantly enhances American's footprint in Brazil and represents an important stepping stone in building an even stronger strategic partnership with LATAM." TAM Airlines CEO Marco Antonio Bologna said: "To have American Airlines as a partner is a great achievement.
