ALPA wants ban on laser sales

Air Line Pilots Association vice-president Glen Kenny has called for the sale of lasers and laser pointers to be legally prohibited in New Zealand, following recent news a laser was pointed into a Pacific Blue B737-800 cockpit on approach at Auckland Airport in New Zealand (NZ Herald, 13-Apr-2011). Mr Kenny said such incidents have become far too common.
