airberlin and Etihad increase capacity between Germany and Abu Dhabi

airberlin and Etihad Airways announced (07-Feb-2012) plans to increase capacity between Germany and Abu Dhabi from Mar-2012. airberlin plans to operate daily to Abu Dhabi from Berlin and Düsseldorf from 25-Mar-2012. airberlin's services from Berlin and Düsseldorf both operate four times weekly at present. Etihad will also increase Abu Dhabi-Düsseldorf frequency to daily using three class A330-300 equipment - see Route Changes Table for more information. The increase in capacity follows the Dec-2011 announcement that Etihad Airways has become airberlin's largest single shareholder and airberlin's commencement of four times weekly Berlin-Abu Dhabi service on 15-Jan-2012. Etihad Airways and airberlin will now offer a combined 42 weekly services between Abu Dhabi and Germany from a total of four German hubs. [more - original PR]
