AirAsia Japan launch could slip to 2016

AirAsia regional group head, route & fleet planning Senthil Balan, speaking at the Routes Asia Kunming strategy summit, stated (15-Mar-2015) AirAsia Japan will launch in late 2015 or 2016. While the market has believed AirAsia Japan could be delayed, this is confirmation of the possibility. As previously reported by CAPA, AirAsia Japan is targeting to file its Application for Approval for International Air Transport Services with Japan's MLITT within Mar-2015. The carrier originally targeted summer 2015 for its re-entry at the time of announcement in Jul-2014.
