Air Serbia takes delivery of A330

Air Serbia announced (11-May-2016) it took delivery of its first widebody aircraft at Belgrade Nikola Tesla Airport. Arrival of the A330 is the latest step in a major re-fleeting programme that began in 2013 and has seen the carrier introduce ten modern narrowbody Airbus aircraft in just over two years, reducing the average age of its jet fleet from 25 to 10 years. The carrier plans to deploy the equipment on five times weekly Belgrade-New York service, to launch on 23-Jun-2016. The service will connect Serbia and US for the first time in 24 years. The A330 is configured with 18 business and 236 economy class seats. Air Serbia CEO Dane Kondić said: "The arrival of our Airbus A330 this afternoon was an historic occasion for Air Serbia and a sign of the bright future that lies ahead of us. In the coming weeks the aircraft will be completely refurbished with new business and economy cabins which, coupled with our fantastic service offering, will provide guests with an unparalleled travel experience over the Atlantic."
