Air New Zealand pax up 7.8% in Jun-2010

Air New Zealand passenger numbers up 7.8% - traffic highlights in Jun-2010:

  • Passenger numbers: 1.0 million, +7.8% year-on-year*;
    • Short-haul: 871,000, +8.2%;
      • Domestic: 664,000, +10.2%;
      • Tasman/Pacific: 207,000, +2.5%;
    • Long-haul: 130,000, +4.8%;
  • Passenger load factor: 82.7%, +3.2 ppts;
    • Short-haul: 81.1%, +5.1 ppts;
      • Domestic: 80.7%, +5.7 ppts;
      • Tasman/Pacific: 81.2%, +4.5 ppts;
    • Long-haul: 83.9%, +1.9 ppts;

*Percentage movements have been adjusted on a daily weighted average basis. The adjustment takes into account the difference in days for the Jun-2010 accounting period compared with Jun-2009.

Air New Zealand: "Group-wide yields for the financial year to date were down 7.1% on the same period last year. Year to date short-haul yields were down 5.4% and the respective long-haul yields were down by 10.7%.
