Air New Zealand passenger numbers up 1.7% - traffic highlights in Jan-2010:

• Passenger numbers: 939,000, +1.7% year-on-year;
  • Short-haul: 792,000, +3.9%;
    • Domestic: 570,000, +9.4%;
    • Tasman/Pacific: 223,000, -7.9%;
  • Long-haul: 147,000, -8.7%;
    • Asia/Japan/UK: 60,000, -16.7%;
    • North America/UK: 87,000, -2.2%;
• Passenger load factor: 86.0%, +2.6 ppts;
  • Short-haul: 82.6%, +4.8 ppts;
    • Domestic: 82.2%, +7.9 ppts;
    • Tasman/Pacific: 82.8%, +3.5 ppts;
  • Long-haul: 88.2%, +1.3 ppt;
    • Asia/Japan/UK: 84.7%, +0.3 ppt;
    • North America/UK: 90.8%, +1.8 ppt;
• Seven months ended 31-Jan-2010:
  • Yield: -9.8%;
    • Short-haul: -8.8%;
