Air New Zealand passenger numbers up 4.3% - traffic highlights in Mar-2011:

  • Passenger numbers: 1.3 million, +4.3% year-on-year;
    • Short-haul: 1.1 million, +6.1%;
      • Domestic: 877,000, +6%;
      • Tasman/Pacific: 268,000, +6.6%;
    • Long-haul: 150,000, -8%;
  • Passenger load factor: 79.8%, -2.9 ppts;
    • Short-haul: 80.6%, -0.5 ppt;
      • Domestic: 83.4%, +1.6 ppts;
      • Tasman/Pacific: 78.9%, -1.8 ppts;
    • Long-haul: 79.1%, -4.7 ppts;
      • Asia/Japan/UK: 77.6%, -7.0 ppts;
      • North America/UK: 80.1%, -3.0 ppts. [more]

Air New Zealand: “Group-wide yields for the financial year to date were up 1.1% on the same period last year. Compared to last March, year to date Short Haul yields were down 3.2% partly due to the new seats to suit product. Long-haul yields were up by 4.6%.
