Air New Zealand passenger numbers stable in Jul-2012, load factor down

Air New Zealand passenger numbers stable - traffic highlights for Jul-2012:

  • Passenger numbers: 1.1 million, -0.1% year-on-year;
    • Short-haul: 946,000, -0.6%;
      • Domestic: 663,000, -3.1%;
      • Tasman/Pacific: 284,000, +5.9%;
    • Long-haul: 128,000, +3.4%;
  • Passenger load factor: 82.8%, -2.8 ppts;
    • Short-haul: 81.1%, -2.4 ppts;
      • Domestic: 79.5%, -3.9 ppts;
      • Tasman/Pacific: 81.8%, -1.8 ppts;
    • Long-haul: 84.4%, -3.1 ppts;

Air New Zealand: "Group-wide yields for the financial year to date were down 2.2% on the same period last year. Compared to July 2011, year to date Short Haul yields were down 4.5%. Long Haul yields were up by 1.0%. Removing the impact of foreign exchange, Group-wide yields were down 1.7%," Source: Company statement, 24-Aug-2012.
