Air New Zealand passenger numbers down 1.4% - traffic highlights in Apr-2010:

  • Passenger numbers: 958,000, -1.4% year-on-year;
    • Short-haul: 848,000, stable;
      • Domestic: 645,000, +2.9%;
      • Tasman/Pacific: 203,000, -8.1%;
    • Long-haul: 110,000, -10.6%;
  • Passenger load factor: 79.4%, -2.3 ppts;
    • Short-haul: 80.5%, -0.9 ppt;
      • Domestic: 80.0%;, +1.4 ppts;
      • Tasman/Pacific: 80.9%, -2.0 ppts;
    • Long-haul: 78.6%, -3.3 ppts;
      • Asia/Japan/UK: 77.1%, -8.3 ppts;
      • North America/UK: 79.6%, +0.2 ppt. [more]

Air New Zealand: “Group-wide yields for the financial year to date were down 8.5% on the same period last year. Year to date Short Haul yields were down 6.6% and the respective Long Haul yields were down by 12.5%.
