Abu Dhabi Airport's Midfield Terminal Complex may be delayed by up to four years

UAE's Supervision Committee for Expansion of Abu Dhabi International Airport Director of Aviation Projects, Suliman al-Siksek, reportedly stated construction of the USD6.8 billion Midfield Terminal Complex at Abu Dhabi International Airport could be delayed by up to four years, pushing completion back to 1Q2015 (Maktoob Business, 10-Nov-2009). The terminal is required to meet Etihad Airways' expansion plans, with design capacity to handle 20 million passengers p/a. Etihad aims to handle 25 million passengers p/a by 2020, up from six million in 2008.

Supervision Committee for Expansion of Abu Dhabi International Airport: "We believe the Midfield Terminal will be ready by the end of the 1Q2015.
