Takeovers of Qantas, Air Sahara near conclusion, but capacity is the problem

Premium Analysis

The private equity takeover of Qantas is drawing closer to

completion as the sole bidder, Airline Partners Australia (APA), lowered the

minimum acceptance level to 70% of total shares, meaning the recalcitrant shareholders

will stay on board – for now. Meanwhile, Jet Airways will shortly close

the curtains on its on-again, off-again deal to takeover Air Sahara.
