Autogrill
About
Established in 1977, the Autogrill Group operates almost exclusively in three business segments: catering ("Food & Beverage" or "F&B"), airport retail ("Travel Retail & Duty Free" or "TR&DF"), and the provision to airlines of products and services for catering and on-board retail ("Flight”). Autogrill was privatised by the Italian Government in 1995 and acquired Host Marriott Services (renamed HMSHost) in 1999. The company acquired 50% of Spanish-based airport duty-free retailer Aldeasa in 2005 and the remainder in 2008. The integration of Alpha's operations was completed in 2008.
In Jul-2022, Dufry and Autogrill announced plans to combine their businesses. Edizione, through a wholly owned subsidiary, will transfer its 50.3% stake in Autogrill to Dufry. Dufry and Edizione closed the transfer of Edizione's 50.3% state in Autogrill to Dufry on 03-Feb-2023. Dufry completed its business combination with Autogrill in Aug-2023, having acquired 100% of Autogrill shares and delisted Autogrill from the Italian Stock Exchange in Jul-2023. Dufry rebranded as Avolta in Nov-2023, representing the combination of Dufry and Autogrill.
