The Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam (CAAV) is the central government body charged with civil aviation oversight in Vietnam. The CAAV is responsible for the deployment of air traffic control equipment, surveillance, aviation safety and security as well as regulating the civil aviation sector in the country. Three regional airport authorities are also under its purview - Northern Airport Authority; Middle Airport Authority and Southern Airport Authority. The department responds to the Ministry of Transportation.
