About

Leipzig/Halle Airport, an affiliate of Mitteldeutsche Airport Holding, serves the cities of Leipzig and Halle and the Saxony/Saxony-Anhalt regions in eastern Germany. Leipzig/Halle is a major airport in Germany's east and serves airlines from across Europe and the Mediterranean region. The airport handles some 2.5 million passengers annually, but it has recently experienced strong growth in cargo throughput, becoming a logistics hub for a host of cargo carriers. DHL located its European hub at Leipzig/Halle in 2008 and cargo traffic at the airport has grown some 33 times in three years.
