Odyssey Airlines is a UK start-up to be based at London City Airport. The carrier planned to launch London City-New York service in 2017, using Bombardier CS100 equipment, in a 40-seat all-business configuration. The start-up intends to bring in a major network airline partner as part of its business model. Plans to launch services to cities elsewhere in Europe, North America and the Middle East are also in development. The start-up is utilising crowdfunding in order to raise capital before it seeks institutional investment. Odyssey will compete with British Airways' 32 seat A318 business class-only service from the same airport and the multi-class services provided by BA, American, Virgin Atlantic, United and Delta from Heathrow. Odyssey Airlines confirmed its order for 10 Airbus A220-100 (formerly Bombardier CS100s) on 17-Jun-2013, worth USD628 million. A revised launch date has not been specified.
