Avatar Airlines is a proposed start-up carrier that plans to adopt an ultra low-cost model. Avatar intends to launch services to domestic destinations in the Americas. The carrier hopes to raise USD300 million through a private placement memorandum to purchase a fleet of B747-400 aircraft and fund operations. Three subsequent attempts to launch Avatar failed since the carrier was founded in 2014. Avatar's roots trace back to defunct Family Airlines.
