Established in 1996, the General Civil Aviation Authority is the organisation responsible for the regulation and oversight of all aspects of civil aviation in the United Arab Emirates. The GCAA is headquartered in Abu Dhabi. The GCAA is responsible for air traffic management, airworthiness, licensing, airports as well as aviation security and threat assessments.
