Zurich Airport reports falling passenger revenue in Jul-2009

Switzerland's Zurich Airport reports the following passenger revenue in Jul-2009 (The Moodie Report, 20-Aug-2009):

• Net sales to consumers: USD38.6 million, -4.9% year-on-year;
  • Airside sales: -9.5%;
  • Landside sales: +0.8%;
• Revenue per departing pax: USD36.21, -4.2%;
  • Airside spending: -8.7%;
  • Lanside spending: +1.6%.

Zurich Airport: "[We saw] near passenger growth in July but are still losing some turnover and revenue, especially airside, partly compensated through strong landside performance. [August] looks quite decent… still no reason to open a bottle of Champagne," Peter Eriksson, Chief Commercial Officer, 20-Aug-2009.
