Zurich Airport EBITDA up 11% in 2011, forecasts 2% pax growth in 2012

Switzerland's Zurich Airport revenue up 6% - financial highlights for 12 months ended 31-Dec-2011:

  • Revenue: CHF905.4 million (EUR750.7 million), +6.3% year-on-year;
    • Aviation: CHF579.6 million (EUR480.6 million), +8.4%;
      • Passenger fees: CHF195.6 million (EUR162.2 million), +6.5%;
      • Landing fees: CHF84.5 million (EUR70.1 million), +6.4%;
    • Non-aviation: CHF325.8 million (EUR270.1 million), +2.8%;
      • Retail, tax and duty free: CHF75.2 million (EUR62.3 million), +0.9%;
  • EBITDA: CHF485.0 million (EUR402.2 million), +11.1%;
  • Net profit: CHF170.9 million (EUR141.7 million), +23.4%;
  • Capital expenditure: CHF332.8 million (EUR276.0 million), +39.1%;
  • Passenger numbers: 24.3 million, +6.4%;
  • Cargo volume: 415,035 tonnes, +1.0%;

Zurich Airport: "Despite an uncertain economic outlook, Flughafen Zurich AG expects a moderate increase of around 2% in passenger volume for the whole year of 2012. Provided that no extraordinary occurrence negatively affects the aviation industry, Flughafen Zurich AG expects a slightly higher net profit for the Financial Year 2012."
