Zagat surveys 90 world airlines, names top carriers

Zagat released (29-Nov-2010) the results of its 2010 airline survey today. The survey covers 16 US domestic and 74 international airlines, as well as 30 major US domestic airports. The survey is based on over 8000 frequent flyers who collectively took 139,300 flights. Each airline was separately rated on a 30-point scale on its premium and economy class service for both US domestic and international flights. The airlines were rated on four aspects of their performance: comfort, service, food and website. For the third year in a row, Continental Airlines was voted top overall among large US domestic airlines for its premium service. JetBlue Airways was voted top among large economy-class carriers. Virgin America was the top mid-sized carrier for both classes. International carriers continue to outperform US domestic airlines, with Singapore Airlines winning premium and economy categories.
