Wataniya Airways reports widening loss in 2009

Wataniya Airways reported widening losses of USD37.8 million in 2009, compared to a loss of USD5.4 million in 2008 (Gulf News, 22-Mar-2010). Wataniya Airways' shareholders' equity fell from USD219 million in 2008 to USD182.3 million in 2009. Meanwhile, the carrier, which currently operates a fleet of four A320 aircraft, is scheduled to receive one A320 later this month and a further two this year.
