Warsaw Chopin Airport handles 5 million pax in 1H2013, Ryanair and Wizz Air handle 1.2 million

Poland's Warsaw Chopin Airport reported (12-Jul-2013) record first half traffic with a 5.7% year-on-year increase in passenger numbers to 5.0 million in 1H2013. The airport attributed the record result to Ryanair and Wizz Air's decision to operate from the airport, with Ryanair transporting 731,411 passengers and Wizz Air transporting 495,520 passengers at the airport. Aircraft movements increased 2.1% to 61,600. In Jun-2013, the airport also reported a 0.2% decline in passengers to 1.1 million. [more - original PR - Polish]
