Aerolineas Argentinas presents 2015 business plan, to achieve 'operating surplus' by 2017
Aerolineas Argentinas presented (26-Mar-2015) its 2015-2020 business plan to the national congress on 26-Mar-2015. CEO Mariano Recalde advised Aerolineas Argentinas aims to transport 16 million passengers and achieve financial balance excluding state contributions in 2019, subject to changes in fuel prices. Aerolineas Argentinas stated it could even turnover an "operating surplus" by 2017 if fuel prices remain stagnant over the next three years. Mr Recalde noted Aerolineas Argentinas has experienced significant growth since the state passed a mandate to recover carrier in 2008, highlighting: "operation in these five years grew by 112% on flights; flight times increased by 64%; passenger traffic grew by 77%, and we have a 47% more planes."
