Virgin Australia and South African Airways announce new codeshare agreement

Virgin Australia and South African Airways (SAA) announced (01-Sep-2014) a new codeshare agreement covering SAA's daily Johannesburg-Perth Service effective from 21-Oct-2014. SAA has an existing codeshare agreement with Virgin Australia on Perth-Adelaide, Perth-Brisbane, Perth-Melbourne and Perth-Sydney services, signed in Feb-2014. Virgin Australia CCO Judith Crompton said: "South African Airways shares our passion for exceptional customer service and recognises the importance of rewarding customer loyalty... This new codeshare enables our customers to connect seamlessly from our domestic services through to South Africa and gives our customers in Western Australia more choice. It is also positive news for our Velocity Frequent Flyer members who will have more opportunities to earn points and status credits to and from South Africa."
