Vienna pax traffic up 8.7% in 2010

Austria's Vienna International Airport reports passenger traffic up 8.7% - traffic highlights in 2010:

• Passenger numbers: 19.7 million, +8.7%;
• Aircraft movements: 246,146, +1.1%;
• Air cargo: 295,989 tonnes, +16.5%.

The airport stated it recorded strong growth on services to eastern Europe (+13.8%) and the Middle East (+10.5%). Frankfurt remains its biggest market, followed by London and Zurich. On long-haul segments, Bangkok is the biggest market, followed by Tokyo and New York. The airport expects to increase passenger traffic by 5% and aircraft movements by 2% in 2011.
