Vienna International Airport pax up 4%, cargo up 12% in Aug-2014

Austria's Vienna International Airport passenger numbers up 4% - traffic highlights for Aug-2014:

• Passenger numbers: 2.3 million, +4.1% year-on-year;

The airport noted (11-Sep-2014) Aug-2014 was the busiest month ever at the airport. During the month, Vienna Airport reported a 3.0% decline in the number of transfer passengers. The number of passengers to Western Europe increased by 4.5% in contrast to the 7.7% decline in passenger traffic to Eastern Europe. The Middle East region showed an increase of 7.5% while passenger volume to destinations in the Far East increased by 18.3%. The number of passengers to North America also increased, rising by 36.5%.
