Vienna International Airport pax up 1%, cargo up 1% in May-2015

Vienna International Airport passenger numbers up 1% - traffic highlights for May-2015:

• Passenger numbers: 2.1 million, +1.1% year-on-year;
• Cargo volume: 22,454 tonnes, +0.8%;

The airport noted (11-Jun-2015) passengers to Western Europe increased 0.8% while traffic to Eastern Europe fell 7.7%, which is related, amongst other factors, to the crisis situations in Russia and the Ukraine. The Middle East region showed a rise of 11.6% in May-2015 compared to a 6.1% increase in passenger volume to the Far East.
