US BTS reports 4.9% rise in system-wide pax traffic in Sep-2010

US Bureau of Transportation Statistics (BTS) reports (09-Dec-2010) the following total system (domestic and international) traffic results for US airlines in Sep-2010:

• Passenger numbers: 57.3 million, +4.9% year-on-year;
• Passenger traffic (RPMs): +6.6%;
• Capacity (ASMs): +4.9%;
• Load factor: 81%, +1.3 ppts;

According to BTS, Delta remained the largest US airline, by total scheduled system enplanements in Sep-2010. The top 10 airlines are as follows:

• Delta: 9.0 million, +68.6%;
• Southwest: 8.3 million, +4.5%;
• American: 6.7 million, +2.8%;
• United: 4.4 million, -0.5%;
• US Airways: 4.2 million, +9.2%;
• Continental: 3.2 million, +1.2%;
• Skywest: 2.0 million, +13%;
• JetBlue: 1.9 million, +15.3%;
• AirTran: 1.8 million, +1.4%;
