US Airways expects profit for 2Q2010, not looking for merger partner

US Airways CEO, Doug Parker, stated the carrier expects to report a profit for 2Q2010, making it the carrier's first profitable quarter since 3Q2007 (TheStreet/Associated Press, 10-Jun-2010). Mr Parker stated the carrier is encouraged by "both our prospects and the prospects for the industry", with revenue per ASM (RASM) 20% higher year-on-year. The CEO also commented it has no plans for a merger partner at present. US Airways' shareholders, meanwhile, rejected a proposal to implement cumulative voting at its AGM.
