UK overseas trips fall 7%

UK Office of National Statistics (ONS) announced that the number of overseas trips taken by UK residents fell 7% year-on-year to 55.3 million in the 12-month period ending Nov-2010 (Trend, 15-Jan-2011). Business travellers fell 6% to 6.7 million over the same period. Shorter-haul trips fell 5% in the three months ending Nov-2010 to 13.6 million. Visits to the UK by overseas residents in the 12 months ending Nov-2010 were stable at 29.8 million.
