Turkish Airlines board yet to make strategic decision on acquisitions

Turkish Airlines CEO Temel Kotil stated the carrier aims for increased cooperation with Spanair and has no plans for acquisitions "for the moment" (Bloomberg, 01-Jul-2011). He added that there is "no progress" in talks to acquire a controlling stake in JAT Airways. Mr Kotil added that "there are several carriers in Europe and the Balkans that are seeking partners but our board hasn't made a strategic decision to look for a partner at the moment".
