Thai Airways reports net loss of USD34 million in 3Q2009

Thai Airways reports (16-Nov-2009) the following financial highlights:

Three months ended 30-Sep-2009:

  • Profit (loss) before tax and foreign currency exchange: (USD34.0 million), compared to a loss of USD131.5 million in the previous corresponding period;
  • Passenger traffic (RPKs): +15.8% from 2Q2009;
  • Load factor: 73.9%, +7.7 pts from 2Q2009;
  • Passenger yield ex-fuel surcharge: USD 5.85 cents, -17.1% year-on-year;

Nine months ended 30-Sep-2009:

  • EBITDA: USD541.7 million, +52.8% year-on-year;
  • Net profit (loss): (USD47.3 million), compared to a loss of USD199199.2 million in the previous corresponding period. [more]
