Thai Airways President outlines four year strategic plan

Thai Airways President, Piyasvasti Amranand outlined a four year strategic plan for the carrier and pledged to improve the carrier's position over the next two years (Bangkok Post, 20-Oct-2009). Mr Amranand stated the plan will be achievable as the carrier already has an existing base to work from. Mr Amranand also admitted that one of THAI's key issues was "interferences", including job placements and requests for contract favours from multiple sources. As a result, the carrier plans to implement a "whistleblower policy".

Thai Airways: "The next two years will be for rehabilitating the airline, and the following two years for gearing up to become a top-three carrier in Asia and a top-five airline in the world… We are not starting from scratch but building on the foundation already there," Piyasvasti Amranand, President.
