Thai Airways postpones delivery of five A330-300 aircraft, due to Koito issues

Thai Airways postponed the delivery of five A330-300 aircraft, due to delays at seating manufacturer, Koito Industries Ltd (Bloomberg, 10-Feb-2010). The carrier stated it was unsure when the seats would be delivered, and is considering handing the contract to another supplier this month, which may delay the aircraft by a further six months. Thai added it has no plans to take any existing aircraft out of service which already have Koito seating.

Thai Airways:
"The planes should've been here by now. The seats are the only thing delaying them. We can't keep going like this," Raj Tanta-Nanta, Vice President for Investor Relations. Source: Bloomberg, 10-Feb-2010.
