Thai Airways International reports sharp profit increases in 1Q2012

Thai Airways International revenue up 5% - financial highlights for three months ended 31-Mar-2012:

  • Total revenue: THB54,508 million (USD1769 million), +5.1% year-on-year;
    • Passenger and excess baggage: THB44,957 million (USD1459 million), +7.2%;
    • Cargo: THB6723 million (USD218.2 million), -3.4%;
  • Total costs: THB50,637 million (USD1643 million), -0.9%;
    • Fuel: THB20,326 million (USD659.6 million), +16.1%;
    • Labour: THB7094 million (USD230.2 million), -8.3%;
  • Profit before tax: THB3868 million (USD125.5 million), +413%;
  • Net profit: THB3645 million (USD118.3 million), +489%;
  • Passenger numbers: 5.2 million, +4.8%;
  • Load factor: 78.2%, +2.2 ppts;
  • Cargo traffic (FTKs): -6.8%;
